About Us

The Responsible Trading Project is located at the Institute for Business Ethics of the University of St. Gallen. The  Institute for Business Ethics has been involved in numerous projects and initiatives pertaining to the Swiss commodity sector,  including a publication commissioned by the Swiss Academies of the Arts and Sciences dealing with current research gaps related to the extant research on the commodity sector (Burgli et al., 2015), which resulted in a fact sheet identifying approaches for research and policy change with regard to developing country governments, and involved commodity companies, trading hubs, and the international community.

The Responsible Trading project is headed by Prof. Dr. Florian Wettstein. Prof. Dr. Pascal Dey provides critical expertise on empirical sociological research and qualitative research methods.

The team further includes Dr. Isabel Ebert, a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute for Business Ethics, as well as two PhD students, Wangui Kimotho and Henrietta Dorfmuller, who support the team with their experience in business ethics and human rights related topics and theories.
